2024 Grading prices and minimum time scales

Red belt - 1-2 months - £25

Yellow belt - 1-2 months - £25

Orange belt - 2-3 months - £25

Green belt - 2-3 months - £25

Blue belt - 3-4 months - £25

Purple belt - 4-5 months - £35

Brown belt 3rd kyu - 4-5 months - £40

Brown belt 2nd kyu - 5 months - £45

Brown belt 1st Kyu - 5 months - £50

Black belt 1st Dan - 6 months - £85

Black belt 2nd Dan - 18 months - £100

Black belt 3rd Dan - 3 years - £130

Please note; time scales are a rough guide based on a minimum of attending two classes per week but are not concrete. Some students excel at a faster rate and some train more than others so grading are conducted according to the Instructors discretion. Gradings will be conducted once every month. You will be informed in class of the next grading date and will be told if you are permitted to grade.  For all of the belts listed above the student receives the belt and a certificate on completion. Gradings take place in front of Sensei Lydia and a panel of some of the black belts.  

Stripe belts are totally free of charge as rewards for hard work and to show progress towards the full belts and will be given in class.
